FIFPro grand opening at Park 20|20

FIFPro’s new headquarters facility at Park 20|20, designed by William McDonough + Partners, celebrated its grand opening yesterday.

Here’s a translated excerpt from AD.nl:

Didier Drogba opened the new office of the international players’ union Monday in Hoofddorp by kicking a ball through a papered window at FIFPro House.

About 300 guests witnessed. Among them many officials, as well as footballers including Ajax and Feyenoord. The Dutchman Theo van Seggelen is the general secretary of FIFPro. The new headquarters is near Schiphol.

Hoofddorpse Courant also wrote about the event.  Here is a translated excerpt:

In the presence of several international professional footballers, Didier Drogba, with a simple foot movement, opened the new headquarters for the football FIFPro. The new office, designed by William McDonough + Partners, is one of the most sustainable office buildings at Park 20|20, also known as Beukenhorst South.

The building has a distinctive character thanks to the almost completely transparent glass facades. The open interior is pleasant and energy efficient with an abundance of light. The interior was designed by Merkx + Girod.

The building includes, besides offices, meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace, and an auditorium. Here, press conferences, seminars and conferences are organized. The other residents of Park 20|20 may use this room.

With the simple foot movement – a shot – it was curtains open to a wide open goal. Guests were received in a football-shaped tent.
