Kristin Cory, AIA, LEED AP
Kristin Cory joined William McDonough + Partners in 2005 as a Project Manager with extensive experience in the design of institutional, commercial, and educational buildings. Since her arrival at WM+P, Cory has been involved in a variety of projects from directing the conceptual design of a new Natural History Museum in Santa Cruz, California to leading a design charette for the new Wildlife Adventure Center at the San Diego Zoo. Cory has also contributed to a renovation plan for the Ocean Conservancy, a new school for International Service at American University.
Prior to joining WM+P, Cory practiced architecture in the UK, living in London and Edinburgh. She worked with the UK architecture firm RHWL and the U.S. based Gensler on such prominent projects as corporate offices at Allied London’s Spinningfields development in Manchester; a renovation for McKinsey Consulting; and the World Headquarters for Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh. Through these projects Cory developed expertise in the design of cladding and glazing systems as well as an extensive knowledge of advanced building technologies.
From 1994 to 2001, Cory was an Associate with Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership in Seattle. While at ZGF, she carried out the role of Project Architect/Designer on a wide variety of projects including office campuses, academic buildings, and institutional building. Her projects included the Microsoft Redmond West campus, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Safeco Insurance Campus Expansion, and the Biology Building at Western Washington University. |
