WM+P To Offset Carbon Emissions through Go Zero
Working with The Conservation Fund's Go Zero Program, we have committed to offsetting our travel-related carbon-dioxide emissions for 2006. Go Zero is kicking off the effort by planting 50 trees in the Sloughs Wildlife Management Area in Kentucky this spring, with another 150 to follow. We expect to fly nearly 1 million air miles this year, and these trees will absorb the resulting 270 metric tons of CO2 emissions. They'll also create new forestlands, restore habitat, and expand existing recreation areas. We'll keep you updated on our progress as we evaluate additional measures to move toward the goal of eliminating our firm's carbon footprint.
